Founded in late 2011, the Penn State Hershey Center for the Protection of Children (PSHCPC) was created to advance Penn State's efforts to address the devastating problem of child abuse and to provide infrastructure for expanding work in this vital area. Creating an alliance of clinicians, scientists, legal scholars and educators focused on improving the detection, treatment, and prevention of child abuse, this new Center’s vision is to become a national leader in child abuse clinical care, research, education, and policy. By locating the Center within Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, it will be able to collaborate and complement, rather than duplicate, the efforts of existing agencies and programs in the region and across the Commonwealth.

Built on Penn State’s established expertise in children, youth and families, the Network encompasses an interdisciplinary group of faculty dedicated to identifying the causes of child maltreatment and developing approaches that will promote prevention, detection, and treatment. The Network's mission is to advance child protection and well-being through research, education, and engagement.

Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape - http://www.pcar.org/
The mission of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) is to work to eliminate all forms of sexual violence and to advocate for the rights and needs of victims of sexual assault. PCAR is an organization working at the state and national levels to prevent sexual violence. Incepted in 1975, PCAR continues to use its voice to challenge public attitudes, raise public awareness, and effect critical changes in public policy, protocols, and responses to sexual violence.

The Penn State University Police provides all law enforcement and security services to the University Park campus. The department provides 24-hour patrol services to the campus and University-owned properties year round.

CAPS provides group and individual counseling, crisis intervention, and psychological and psychiatric evaluations for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as prevention and consultation services for the University community.
